A snowboard made with a Jack Daniels barrel!?
We get asked quite a lot who are favour brands are and snowboard companies we respect…Signal always comes in our top 5 and this is why.
In this Every third thursday, Signal take it back to the roots by doing a pinewood derby on customised 2×4 pinewood and by handing it over to the rider shape and modify.
Just getting to a casual 55mph on the blanks of wood…not bad isit?
You know the score with Signal Snowboards by now, Every Third Thursday of the month they create something innovative and killer in their workshops. In the past there have been stereo snowboards, surf/snowboards and Xylophone Snowboards.
This Thursday, they decided to create and solar powered board, handy for those times when your phone dies or your gopro runs out of juice.
The pattern of the panels on the top sheet is actually pretty sick!
A nice insight into the family and background of signal snowboards. Marketing Director Marc Wierenga tells the story of how he started building boards in a garage and how that evolved into a full blown snowboard factory in Huntington Beach, CA. Marc also explains how his factory came to be the home base for Signal Snowboards.
This truly is next level innovation in Snowboarding. Signal Snowboard’s really are pushing the boundaries of snowboarding.
This ETT Signal have taking on one of the rewarding creations possible. Getting friend/pro Tim Ostler back on the snow after a life changing accident that left them paralyzed from the chest down. This is what snowboarding is about!

Signal Snowboard’s third season of Every Third Thursdays and still as creative as ever. This episode they actually build a fly fishing rod in to a snowboard.
These installments of ETT constantly blow our minds here at OWE. Keep your eyes open for the rest of the season 3 episodes because they are guaranteed to be pretty special. Also check out Yusaku Horii and Kazu Kokubo killing it up at Mt Hood.
Signal gave their riders free reign over ETT this episode and its amazing to see how rider influence can shape a board. We would all love to be able to walk in to a workshop, come up with an idea for a board and walk away with it at the end of the day. Not only taking away a one of a kind but something you have designed.
What would you come up with?
Another Third Thursday…Another one off, innovative idea
Signal build a board for the band Bush and Clear Channel alternative radio 98.7fm for a winter promotion.
This ETT is a surfers dream! Revolutionary move by Signal, who’s to say this couldn’t change both sports.
